T3 - Technical Textiles Technology

Challenge
The industrial textile market represents almost 50 percent of all textiles woven and knitted in North America. Without question, it's the preeminent and most innovative sector of the market, incorporating all the commodity and performance fibers and leading manufacturers, throughout an extensive value-chain. In spite of this dominance, the industry lacked a magazine reporting on advancements and broad spectrum of the market from awnings and outdoor fabrics to protective apparel, filtration media, medical fabrics and all the other segments, which comprise this growth industry.

Process
Creating the concept and linking with the International Media Group, the publisher of the International Fiber Journal (IFJ) was the key to establishing a business platform. The IFJ was established and the leading magazine in the world in a related business segment. Equally important was strategy and execution targeted to those companies seeking to broaden their knowledge base in this fragmented market as well as advertisers who sought a focused medium for their message.

Solution
After 6 months of development, the first issue of T3 was launched in November 2002 with favorable review from readers and advertisers alike. Each issue covers two major market segments of woven and knitted textiles and engineered nonwoven fabrics, review of trade events, patents in the field and many special features. The magazine emphasizes all aspects in the manufacturing process, including features on leading performance polymers and surface treatments in each issue. Our corporate sponsors and blue ribbon advisory board of industry leaders provides guidance to the magazine.
